I. "there, in that place", Lat. illic, attic

2. euphem. for ἐν Ἅιδου, "in another world", Aesch., etc.; οἱ ἐκεῖ, i. e. "the dead", id=Aesch.

II. with Verbs of motion, for ἐκεῖσε, as we say "there" for "thither", ἐκεῖ πλέειν Hdt., etc.
