ἀπο-καλύπτω,

[in LXX chiefly for גּלה;]

1. in general sense (cl.), to reveal, uncover, disclose,

(a) of things: Mt 10:26, Lk 2:3512:2, I Co 3:13;

(b) of persons: pass., Christ, Lk 17:30; Antichrist, II Th 2:3, 6, 8.

2. In LXX and NT, in special sense of divine revelation: Mt 11:25 (on the tense, v. M, Pr., 136), Mt 11:2716:17, Lk 10:21, 22, Jo 12:38, Ro 1:17, 188:18, I Co 2:1014:30, Ga 1:163:23, Eph 3:5, Phl 3:15, I Pe 1:5, 125:1 (Westc., Eph., 178 f.; M, Th., 149 f.).†
