1. to keep off; c. dat., to assist.
2. to suffice: c. dat. pers., Jo 6:7, II Co 12:9; impers., Mt 25:9, Jo 14:8 (MM, s.v.). Pass., to be satisfied: c. dat. rei, Lk 3:14, I Ti 6:8, He 13:5; seq. ἐπί, III Jo 10.†
