εἰρηνεύω

(< εἰρήνη), [in LXX chiefly for שׁלם, שׁקט;]

1. to bring to peace, reconcile (so I Mac 6:60).

2. to keep peace, be at peace: Mk 9:50, Ro 12:18, II Co 13:11, I Th 5:13 (cf. Si 28:9; Cremer, 246).†
