κτίσις, -εως, ἡ

1. a founding, settling, foundation (cl.).

2. In LXX and NT,

(a) the act of creating, creation: Mk 10:6 (Swete, in l.), Mk 13:19, Ro 1:20, II Pe 3:4;

(b) that which has been created, creation: Ro 1:258:39, He 4:13; καινὴ κ., II Co 5:17, Ga 6:15; πάσῃ ἀνθρωπίνῃ κ. (Hort., in l.), I Pe 2:13; collectively, of the sum of created things (Wi 19:6, Jth 16:14), Mk 16:[15], Col 1:15, 23, He 9:11, Re 3:14; of the irrational creation, Ro 8:19-22.†
