pestilence: pl., Lk 21:11; metaph. (as in cl.; LXX: Ps 1:1, Pr 21:24, I Mac 15:21, al.), of persons, a pest: Ac 24:5 (also as adj., ἄνδρες λοιμοί, I Mac 10:61, al.).†
