πατέω

πατέω, -ῶ,,

[in LXX for דּרךְ, etc.;]

1. intrans., to tread, walk: seq. ἐπάνω ὄφεων κ.τ.λ. (fig.), Lk 10:19 (cf. Ps 90 (91):13).

2. Trans., to tread on, trample: τ. ληνόν, Re 14:2019:15 (cf. Jg 9:27, La 1:15, al.); of the desecration of Jerusalem by its enemies, Lk 21:24, Re 11:2 (cf. κατα-, περι-, ἐν-περι-πατέω).†
