to be aπροφήτης (q.v.), to prophesy: in the primary sense of telling forth the Divine counsels, Mt 7:2226:68, Mk 14:65, Lk 1:6722:64, Ac 19:6, I Co 11:4, 513:914:1, 3-5, 24, 31, 39, Re 11:3; with the idea of foretelling future events (an idea merely incidental, not essential; v. Lft., Notes, 83 f.), Mt 11:13, Ac 2:17, 18(LXX)21:9; seq. περί, Mt 15:7, Mk 7:6, I Pe 1:10; ἐπί, c. dat., Re 10:11; λέγων, Ju 14; ὅτι, Jo 11:51.†
