a Samaritan, i.e. an inhabitant of the city or the region of Samaria, in NT always the latter (v.s. Σαμαρία): Mt 10:5, Lk 9:5210:3317:16, Jo 4:9, 39, 40, Ac 8:25; as an opprobrious epithet, Jo 8:48.†
