ζωογονέω, -ῶ

1. in cl., to engender, produce alive, endue with life.

2. In LXX and NT, to preserve alive (DCG, ii, 606a; Cremer, 274): Lk 17:33, Ac 7:19, I Ti 6:13 (EV, quickeneth; R, mg., preserveth).†
