[in LXX chiefly for פָּר, also for שׁוֹר, עֵגֶל. etc.;]

1. a young shoot or twig.

2. ὁ, ἡ, μ., offspring;

(a) of men;

(b) of animals; most freq. (as always in LXX), a calf, bullock, heifer: Lk 15:23, 27, 30, He 9:12, 19, Re 4:7.†
