παρ-οικέω, -ῶ,

[in LXX chiefly for גּוּר, also for ישׁב, שׁכן;]

1 in cl., to dwell beside (c. acc.), among (c. dat.) or near by (absol.).

2 In late writers, to dwell in a place as aπάροικος (q.v.) or stranger: Lk 24:18, He 11:9.†
