pon'-der: Occurs in the King James Version 5 times in the Book of Proverbs and nowhere else in the Old Testament. In each case it means "to consider carefully," "to weigh mentally." InPr 4:26and 5:21, the Revised Version (British and American) substitutes "make level." InPr 5:6, it drops out entirely in the Revised Version (British and American). InPr 21:2and 24:12, "weigh" is substituted for "ponder." The one New Testament passage isLu 2:19; here the Revised Version (British and American) has "pondering" where the King James Version has "and pondered."
