sim'-e-on (Sumeon): the Revised Version (British and American) inLu 3:30;Ac 13:1;15:14for the King James Version "Simeon" (which see). The persons are:
(1) An ancestor of Jesus (Lu 3:30).
(2) Symeon, called Niger, one of the prophets and teachers in the church at Antioch (Ac 13:1).
