I. "to pass over from one place to another", μετὰ δ᾽ ἄστρα βεβήκει (for μετεβεβήκει) the stars "had passed over" the meridian, Od.; μ. ἐς τὴν Ἀσίην Hdt.: "to go over to the other side", Aesch.
