INGRA'TEFUL, adjective [Latin ingratus; in and gratus.]

1. Ungrateful; unthankful; not having feelings of kindness for a favor received.

2. Unpleasing to the sense.

He gives no ingrateful food.

IN'GRATE, noun An ungrateful person.
