‖Ad′i‐an″tum (�), n. [L., fr. Gr. �, maidenhair; ἀ priv. + � to wet.] (Bot.) A genus of ferns, the leaves of which shed water; maidenhair. Also, the black maidenhair, a species of spleenwort.
