‖Am‐ne″si‐a (�), n. [NL., fr. Gr. αμνησἴα; priv. + μνα̑σθαι to remember.] (Med.) Forgetfulness; also, a defect of speech, from cerebral disease, in which the patient substitutes wrong words or names in the place of those he wishes to employ. Quian.
