Am″phi‐as′ter (�), n. [NL., fr. Gr. αμφἴ + αστἤρ a star.] (Biol.) The achromatic figure, formed in mitotic cell-division, consisting of two asters connected by a spindle-shaped bundle of rodlike fibers diverging from each aster, and called the spindle.
