An″eu‐rism (ăn″ū̍‐rĭz'm), n. [Gr. ανεὔρυσμα, ανευρυσμὄσ, a widening, an opening; ανἄ up + ευρὔσ wide.] (Med.) A soft, pulsating, hollow tumor, containing blood, arising from the preternatural dilation or rupture of the coats of an artery. [Written also aneurysm.]
