‖Ar‐thri″tis (är‐thrī″tĭs), n. [L., fr. Gr. αρθρἰ̑τισ (as if fem. of αρθρἴτισ belonging to the joints, sc. νόσοσ disease) gout, fr. ἄρθρον a joint.] (Med.) Any inflammation of the joints, particularly the gout.
