As‐sas″sin‐ate (�), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Assassinated (�); p. pr. & vb. n.Assassinating (�).] [LL. assassinatus, p. p. of assassinare.] 1. To kill by surprise or secret assault; to murder by treacherous violence.
