As′ter‐oph″yl‐lite (ăs′tẽr‐ŏf″ĭl‐līt), n. [Gr. αστἤρ star + φύλλον leaf.] (Paleon.) A fossil plant from the coal formations of Europe and America, now regarded as the branchlets and foliage of calamites.
