‖Ba‐som′ma‐toph″o‐ra (bȧ‐sŏm′mȧ‐tŏf″ō̍‐rȧ), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. βάσισ base + ὄμμα eye + φέρειν to bear.] (Zoöl.) A group of Pulmonifera having the eyes at the base of the tentacles, including the common pond snails.
