Bliz″zard (blĭz″zẽrd), n. [Cf. Blaze to flash. Formerly, in local use, a rattling volley; cf. “to blaze away” to fire away.] A gale of piercingly cold wind, usually accompanied with fine and blinding snow; a furious blast.
