Bombast

Bom″bast (bŏm″bȧst or bŭm″bȧst; 277), n. [OF. bombace cotton, LL. bombax cotton, bombasium a doublet of cotton; hence, padding, wadding, fustian. See Bombazine.] 1. Originally, cotton, or cotton wool.
