‖Cal′li‐op″sis (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. pref. καλλι- (fr. καλόσ beautiful) + ὄψισ appearance.] (Bot.) A popular name given to a few species of the genus Coreopsis, especially to C. tinctoria of Arkansas.
