Ca‐loy″er (?), n. [F., fr. NGr. ��������� a monk; καλόσ beautiful, good + �����, equiv. to Gr. ����� an old man.] A monk of the Greek Church; a cenobite, anchoret, or recluse of the rule of St. Basil, especially, one on or near Mt. Athos.
