Car″a‐cal (kăr″ȧ‐kăl), n. [F. caracal, fr. Turk qarahqootaq; qarah black + qootaq ear.] (Zoöl.) A lynx (Felis caracal syn. Lynx caracal). It is a native of Africa and Asia. Its ears are black externally, and tipped with long black hairs.
