Chinse (?), v. t. & i. [imp. & p. p.Chinsed (?); p. pr. & vb. n.Chinsing.] (Naut.) To thrust oakum into (seams or chinks) with a chisel, the point of a knife, or a chinsing iron; to calk slightly.

Chinsing iron, a light calking iron.
