‖Chon′dro‐ga‐noi″de‐a (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. � cartilage + NL. ganoidei. See Ganoid.] (Zoöl.) An order of ganoid fishes, including the sturgeons; — so called on account of their cartilaginous skeleton.
