Col″co‐thar (kŏl″kō̍‐thẽr), n. [NL. colcothar vitrioli, fr. Ar. qolqoṭar.] (Chem.) Polishing rouge; a reddish brown oxide of iron, used in polishing glass, and also as a pigment; — called also crocus Martis.
