Cyg″net (sĭg″nĕt), n. [Dim. of F. cygne swan, L. cycnus. cygnus, fr. Gr. κύκλοσ: but F. cygne seems to be an etymological spelling of OF. cisne, fr. LL. cecinus, cicinus, perh. ultimately also fr. Gr. κύκλοσ.] (Zoöl.) A young swan. Shak.
