De‐flect″ (?), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Deflected; p. pr. & vb. n.Deflecting.] [L. deflectere; de- + flectere to bend or turn. See Flexible.] To cause to turn aside; to bend; as, rays of light are often deflected.
