Deipnosophist

Deip‐nos″o‐phist (dīp‐nŏs″ō̍‐fĭst), n. [Gr. δειπνοσοφιστήσ; δει̑πνον a meal + σοφιστήσ a wise man, sophist.] One of an ancient sect of philosophers, who cultivated learned conversation at meals.
