‖Der′o‐tre″ma‐ta (?), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. δέροσ skin + �, �, hole.] (Zoöl.) The tribe of aquatic Amphibia which includes Amphiuma, Menopoma, etc. They have permanent gill openings, but no external gills; — called also Cryptobranchiata. [Written also Derotrema.]
