Di‐aph″y‐sis (?), n. [Gr. � a growing through; διά through + � to bring forth.] 1. (Bot.) An abnormal prolongation of the axis of inflorescence.

2. (Anat.) The shaft, or main part, of a bone, which is first ossified.
