Di‐bu″tyl (dī̍‐bū″tĭl), n. [Pref. di- + butyl.] (Chem.) A liquid hydrocarbon, C8H18, of the marsh-gas series, being one of several octanes, and consisting of two butyl radicals. Cf. Octane.
