Dis‐heart″en (dĭs‐härt″'n), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Disheartened (–'nd); p. pr. & vb. n.Disheartening.] [Pref. dis- + hearten.] To discourage; to deprive of courage and hope; to depress the spirits of; to deject.
