En‐ceph′a‐lop″a‐thy (?), n. [Gr. εγκἔφαλοσ the brain + πάσχειν, παθει̑ν, to suffer.] (Med.) Any disease or symptoms of disease referable to disorders of the brain; as, lead encephalopathy, the cerebral symptoms attending chronic lead poisoning.
