Ep″i‐c/'d2le (ĕp″ĭ‐sēl), n. [Pref. epi- + Gr. κοι̑λον a hollow.] (Anat.) A cavity formed by the invagination of the outer wall of the body, as the atrium of an amphioxus and possibly the body cavity of vertebrates.
