‖E‐pim″a‐chus (ē̍‐pĭm″ȧ‐kŭs), prop. n. [NL., fr. Gr. επἴμαχοσ equipped for battle; επἴ for + μάχη battle.] (Zoöl.) A genus of highly ornate and brilliantly colored birds of Australia, allied to the birds of Paradise.
