Ex‐pugn″ (ĕks‐pūn″), v. t. [L. expugnare; ex out + pugnare to fight, pugna fight. Cf. Impugn.] To take by assault; to storm; to overcome; to vanquish; as, to expugn cities; to expugn a person by arguments.
