‖Flag′el‐la″ta (?), n. pl. [NL., fr.L. flagellatus, p. p. SeeFlagellate, v. t.] (Zoöl.) An order of Infusoria, having one or two long, whiplike cilia, at the anterior end. It includes monads. See Infusoria, and Monad.
