‖Fon″dant (fŏn″dant; Fr. fôN′däN″), n. [F., lit., melting, p. pr. of fondre to melt, L. fundere. See Found to cast.] A kind of soft sweetmeat made by boiling solutions to the point of crystallization, usually molded; as, cherry fondant.
