Generatrix

Gen′er‐a″trix (?), n.; pl. L. Generatrices (#), E. Generatrixes (#). (Geom.) That which generates; the point, or the mathematical magnitude, which, by its motion, generates another magnitude, as a line, surface, or solid; — called also describent.
