‖Gy‐rol″e‐pis (jĭ‐rŏl″ē̍‐pĭs), n. [NL., fr. Gr. γυρόσ round + λεπίσ scale.] (Paleon.) A genus of ganoid fishes, found in strata of the new red sandstone, and the lias bone beds. Agassiz.
