‖Hal′i‐chon″dri‐æ (hăl′ĭ‐kŏn″drĭ‐ē), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ἅλσ, αλὅσ, sea + χόνδροσ cartilage.] (Zoöl.) An order of sponges, having simple siliceous spicules and keratose fibers; — called also Keratosilicoidea.
