Hel″les‐pont (?), n. [L. Hellespontus, Gr. �; � the mythological Helle, daughter of Athamas + � sea.] A narrow strait between Europe and Asia, now called the Daradanelles. It connects the Ægean Sea and the sea of Marmora.
