‖Het′e‐ro‐so″ma‐ti (?), n. pl.(Zoöl.) An order of fishes, comprising the flounders, halibut, sole, etc., having the body and head asymmetrical, with both eyes on one side. Called also Heterosomata, Heterosomi.
